What the Saved Section feature does:
it changed my life. Okay, that’s a little over the top, I know, but seriously?!? When Squarespace first announced they were working on this I had high hopes and Squarespace really delivered!
The Saved Sections feature means you can save an original section format that you created to your saved section catalog. For example, let’s say you have a unique Call to Action section to promote a popular freebie or an online course. You add this Call to Action section to your saved section catalog. Fast forward to 6 months from now and you have a new item you want to promote on a different page. Instead of rebuilding all of that from scratch, you can add this saved layout, swap out images and text, and boom you’re done!
By far one of my favorite features to be released since Fluid Engine!

Did I mention this feature will save you a ton of time? 😉
What the Asset Library does:
It creates a central location for all the images and videos you have uploaded to your website — and it’s a great way to view the amount of video storage you have left for your account.
Benefits of this feature:
You can delete an image or video from your site (be sure it’s not in use somewhere!)
View individual file information by clicking on File Details (Filename, Type, Dimensions, Size, and Date the file was added)
Since this feature is relatively new, we have hopes additional features will become available for the Asset Library.
Our personal wishlist of additional features:
Display file size in the main list view and being able to sort (this is so helpful in identifying graphics that may be too large and could be negatively impacting user experience)
Display the URL(s) or Page Locations a file is being used or displayed
Grouping assets by folder — how great would it be to have Blog Post thumbnails in one folder, and Social Share Images in another
Editing and adding ALT text to images here would be a huge timesaver as well
